Get Living leads peer group in 5 star GRESB achievement

  • For the second year in a row, Get Living has been awarded 5 stars for its standing investment portfolio
  • GRESB Score see it ranked first amongst the eight strong UK residential multi family peer group
  • Ratings becoming increasingly competitive as all companies strive to improve their sustainability performance

22 October 2021: Get Living, the UK’s leading build-to-rent operator of large-scale residential neighbourhoods, has achieved a 5 star GRESB rating and led its peer group, for its standing investment portfolio, comprising its neighbourhoods at East Village, Elephant Central and Middlewood Locks, for the year to December 2020.

Key activities which form part of Get Living’s ESG strategy include:

  • In support of the ongoing improvement to biodiversity at East Village, three beehives are located in the neighbourhood. The bees are looked after by a number of Get Living residents who have been properly trained in the art of beekeeping
  • A number of community focused programmes to support local people’s wellbeing and prevent isolation through sport, education and mentoring, amongst other activities
  • A successful rainwater harvesting system which supplies irrigation systems and saves an average of 6,000,000 litres of water per year and has helped Get Living sustain its 5 star rating

This was the first year GRESB has required a separate submission for all developments owned by Get Living Plc. The active development portfolio, which currently comprises the 649 bed Lewisham Gateway and Elephant & Castle Town Centre, was assessed for the first time, achieving a score of 90/100, resulting in a high 4 star rating.

However, with improvements being seen across the peer group, the benchmark for top performance is becoming ever more competitive meaning that Get Living will have to set itself ever more challenging targets in future years.
