The central section of the Elizabeth line will open for passengers on Tuesday with trains running from Abbey Wood to Paddington, every five minutes from 6:30am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday.
The new service will reduce journey times for London commuters, giving people access to central London within 45minutes with the high-speed railway, walk-through trains and spacious new stations.
The London Crossrail route line will link east and west commuter belt towns to the centre of the city, with services from Reading, Heathrow and Shenfield connecting with the central tunnels from autumn 2022.
The Elizabeth Line won’t operate on Sundays and nights when the engineering and further testing of the line will take place in preparation for more intensive services from the autumn. A special service will operate on Sunday 5 June for the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Elizabeth line journey times from Stratford
The Elizabeth line will provide another transport link to Stratford, enabling Londoners and the capital’s visitors to enjoy everything East London has to offer. Stratford station is a part of the first phase happening in May 2022 as a part of the East section running from Liverpool Street station to Shenfield in Essex.
For East Londoners, commuting time to business hubs such as Liverpool Street, Farringdon and Bond Street will be easier, faster and more comfortable as the Elizabeth Line from Stratford, journey times will take:

Once the Elizabeth line is fully operating, it will stop at a total of 41 stations stretching more than 100km across the capital, serving around 200 million people each year.
Accessibility on the Elizabeth line
Step-free access is in place from the street to train across all Elizabeth line stations between Paddington and Woolwich. All newly built stations, in the central section, will have marked routes, step-free access and straightforward signs and information enabling passengers to move independently through stations.
The new trains are fully accessible, with four dedicated wheelchair spaces on each train close to the doors and separate from multi-use spaces for wheelchair users, buggies, and bicycles. All 41 stations will be staffed from first to the last train, with a ‘turn up and go’ service offered to anyone needing assistance.
