Sashiko Stitching with Barley

May’s Makers Meet is led by Barley, the owner of Fabrications. Launched in 2000 in Broadway Market, Fabrications is an East London hub of creativity focusing on social textiles, upcycling and eco-design. Barley will introduce you to Sashiko stitching, a style of stitching originating from Japan that’s both decorative and practical.

Sashiko style stitching is sometimes used by many sewers to create decorative patches for clothes, but for your workshop you’ll use it to create something a little different – four personalised and unique patterned felt coasters. Join Barley and practice the art of Sashiko style stitching.

Sign up to receive a FREE package delivered to your home containing materials for the workshop.
