Chocolate Festival

On March 19, Get Living London organised the first Chocolate Festival to be held in East Village, with over 5,000 visitors heading to Victory Park to enjoy it.

With a London skyline made out of chocolate particularly drawing the crowds, visitors were able to enjoy chocolate making and tasting classes, not least with Master Chocolatier Paul Wayne Gregory, while visiting a host of stands and shops selling everything of organic fudge through to chocolate liquor and the timeless classic – hot churros.

Classic Eastend Pearly Kings and Queens could be seen encouraging festival goers to try the ‘Chockney Challenge’, wherby their knowledge of cockney rhyming slang was put to the test as they tried to work out which chocolates had a nice filling and which ones were a little more questionable (such as curry and gravy)!

It marked the first major Get Living London event of 2016 in East Village, following on from the success last year in the form of a Tapas & Cider Festival, a Wimbledon-themed E20 Summer Fair, an Outdoor Film Festival, and the ever-popular Fireworks Night. Keep an eye on this website for more events coming up later this year.
