The Lab E20

Creative Hub in East London

Located at 3-4 East Park Walk, The Lab E20 is East Village’s new flagship for experiential retail, cultural exhibition and creative workspace, with a focus on positive fashion and sustainable living.

Designed by Christopher Raeburn, founder of RÆBURN, the 3,500sq ft and double-heighted space in Stratford plays host to events and experiences with various cultural partners for residents and wider community.

New for 2023, ‘Regenerative by Design’ is a cultural programme produced by RAEBURN and supported by Get Living celebrating London’s cultural innovation across Climate Action, Low Carbon Living and the Circular Economy.

THE FUTURE OF FASHION: IMAGINING POSSIBILITES
The Lab E20’s latest exhibition The Future of Fashion: Imagining Possibilities has been curated by RÆBURN in partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, London College of Fashion, UAL to document the local and global impact of regenerative design – from the garments we wear, to the ways in which we shape our cities and our communities. This rolling exhibition (October 2023 to October 2024) is open to the public.

“It seemed only right and proper that after fifteen years I did a little something to celebrate; this exhibition charts a decade and a half of creativity, community & collaboration and my hope is that it will prove an inspiration for future generations, as well as being an opportunity to thank those that have done so much to build and support our efforts.

It’s a full circle moment for myself and the brand as the retrospective will be held at The Lab E20, Stratford which is a stone’s throw from our first London studio on Fish Island, Hackney Wick”

RÆBURN 15 | RETROSPECTIVE

Curated by visual storyteller Harris Elliott, RÆBURN 15 | RETROSPECTIVE charts the breadth of a designer brand that had its embryonic beginnings as a radical experiment that went on to impact the fashion industry as a whole. This retrospective is the first of its kind and many of the exhibits have never been seen in public before.

Over fifteen years the entire narrative around sustainability has changed inexorably and at every stage RÆBURN has been at the forefront disrupting, innovating and inspiring. Importantly, the exhibition won’t just be looking back, we need to look forward so please be sure to see new projects, spotlights on the sterling work of others pioneering in their fields and a glimpse into what the next chapter might look like for our business and beyond.

IS FASHION’S FUTURE SECONDHAND 

Learn about the innovative initiatives fashion’s forward thinkers are adopting for the secondhand shopping trend. They’ll share the role of technology, creativity and community in the movement and how we can sustain fashion’s future. Begin with welcome drinks, followed by our panel discussion and end the evening with the opportunity to network. Reserve your free space.

Host: Gemma Metheringham – Founder of The Elephant in my Wardrobe, circular fashion consultant and PHD student researching how the growing secondhand market can become a lever that reduces fashion’s environmental impact.

Panellists:

• Elizabeth Anjorin – Fashion Tech Blockchain Strategist and Founder of Galore, designed to bring traceability and transparency to luxury resale.
• Matt Hanrahan – Co-Founder of Reskinned, the business is helping brands like Finnisterre and Sweaty Betty make circular business models a reality.
• Yasmin Jones-Henry – Co-Founder and Curator of The Lab E20 the cultural and creative space championing a fashion future that is regenerative by design.
• Ronan O’Dalaigh – Founder and CEO of the online charity shop Thriftify, wants to change how, and why we shop.
• Hannah Standen – Co-Founder and CEO of the upcycled fashion marketplace Alterist, designed to transform what we consider textile waste.

ARTISTS APPROACH PROJECT
Funded by the Arts Council, this project brings together young music mentees with professional artists over an eight-month period to develop their creativity, compose new music together and prepare for regular performances. For more information email: [email protected].

PAINT MISBEHAVIN’ ECO ART CLUB
A monthly process art club for kids, inspired by nature and sustainably. Join artist Christina Rose Brown to create, make and play with a range of natural, recycled and art materials with a different project each session. Suitable for children aged 3+. Adults must accompany children at all times. £12 per child, book your eco art club tickets.

A monthly knitting club to help you to pick up the basics and follow the knit pattern provided. Already know what you’re doing? Feel free to bring your existing projects.
