October 12, 2023

The original egg-based gourmet dining concept is opening its doors

The international pioneer of gourmet egg-based dining, eggslut, today announces the official opening date for its fifth UK site at East Village in Stratford, London on Saturday 28 October.

Nestled in the heart of Get Living’s East Village neighbourhood in Stratford, the new restaurant will be eggslut’s largest site in the UK to-date and thrive within the area’s buzzing community of residents, workers and socialisers. Expect all-day dining options that elevate eggs beyond the bacon sandwich, making eggslut more than the best brunch in London.

Eggslut, a famous haunt of dedicated foodies and internationally renowned three Michelin-star chef Clare Smyth, will open its doors even further into East London following the success of its previous East London location, Shoreditch which opened in 2021.

The location will feature an outdoor terrace, comfortably seating up to 90 customers with views of Victory Parade and Park. With the launch of eggslut Stratford, Bruno Pires, Executive Chef, has developed an exclusive ‘evening menu’.

Designed to position eggslut as a premium all-day dining option in East Village, the first new sandwich to be revealed is The Romesco. The new recipe consists of slow-cooked crispy pork belly, free-range over medium egg, Romesco sauce and rocket, all within a delicious warm brioche bun (£11.95). Stay tuned @eggslutuk for when these exclusive new dishes drop to make sure you’re first in the queue!

All menu items at eggslut are cooked fresh to order using the highest quality locally sourced ingredients and no freezers are used on site. The eggslut concept originated as a chef meal in a two Michelin star restaurant and this chef-driven quality remains at the core of each dish.

Eggslut will also be extending its opening hours at its Stratford location until 10pm for customers to enjoy the ‘evening menu’ well into the night.

Bruno Pires, Operations Manager at eggslut comments: “We are so excited to bring another store to our customers. Longer opening hours, new menu items, big terrace for the warmer days. We had so many followers asking to open in East London and we can’t wait!”

Richard Allen, Head of Retail at Get Living for East Village comments: “Eggslut choosing East Village for its fifth and largest UK location is testament to the diverse and thriving nature of this established neighbourhood. Eggslut is the perfect addition to the existing line-up of independent cafes, restaurants, and bars. We know that residents are already looking forward to its opening, with its innovative concept and growing fanbase, we’re excited about the new customers and visitors eggslut will bring to the village..”

All eggslut restaurants welcome walk-in customers and are open from 8am daily. The Stratford location will join eggslut’s Portobello Road, Fitzrovia, Shoreditch and Victoria Market Halls destinations, also on Deliveroo and UberEats, allowing even more egg lovers in the nearby locations to enjoy the gourmet food concept.
