Already the most connected neighbourhood in London, East Village will soon be reachable around the clock with the release of the London Underground Night Tube.
On August 19th 2016 London Underground launched its first official 24 Tube Service, with one of the two first tube lines being rolled out serving East Village. Now there’s more! From Friday 7 October 2016 the Jubilee Line will join the all nighter club, as it runs 24/7 at weekends – making East Village even more accessible around the clock.
The first Night Tube services kicked off on the Central and Victoria Lines on Friday 19 August. After the Jubilee Line launches this weekend it will be soon be followed by the Northern and Picadilly lines later this autumn. It will be a 24 hour service offered on Fridays and Saturdays.
Longer term Transport for London (TFL) hopes to roll it out onto the Overground and DLR, meaning Stratford stations will eventually be served by at least 4 different train lines for 24-hours at weekends.
As the most visited city in the world, London will be joining just a handful of other top world cities, including New York and Berlin, which also provide metro services through the night. The new services will help to maintain London’s status as a vibrant and exciting place to live, work and visit, something which is reflected by East Village with its independent bars, cafes and shops. In addition to the Central and Jubilee tube lines, the former athletes village will also continue to be served 7 days a week by the DLR, overground and high speed rail services. East Village really is closer than you think.
