About Hajia Dahiru

London based photographer, Hajia Dahiru, has lived in Newham for the last 10 years. She has had the support of the Rosetta Arts Accelerator Programme, which helps kickstart the careers of local emerging artists.

Hajia started her career as a product photographer and has recently shifted her focus to architecture, bringing her image capturing skills to dwell on forms and shapes. Hajia believes photography is the language of self expression and that it inspires of all her visual artwork. Living in London has meant she is able to always explore new ways of approaching architectural photography.

Hajia’s affinity with the East Village neighbourhood led to Get Living’s commission for this project, as part of its 10th birthday celebrations for it’s portrait exhibition ‘Where We Belong.’

Hajia loves sharing her photography skills with other like-minded people especially when she is teaching or delivering community workshops. She frequently works with Rosetta Arts, where she currently delivers accredited and non-accredited Digital Photography and Darkroom courses.
