The Experimental Knitting ? workshop aims to push the boundaries of textiles to challenge the domestic associations of knitting. Suitable for all abilities, the session focuses on exploring materials, using simple techniques to create both art and practical objects.
Level: The session is suitable for all abilities, including beginners, and will focus on the artistic potential of simple techniques. There will also be demonstrations of basic knitting and yarn making methods.
What you will make:
An experimental sample, with a range of materials and techniques, or
A household item, such as a cushion cover, bag, or other small object. Although it is unlikely the item will be finished during the session, the participant will leave with a clear idea how to complete the project.
Maters & equipment to bring:
Scissors ✂️ to cut fabric and yarn
Any unwanted clothes (ie. T-shirts, shirts, jeans, tights), or larger fabric pieces for making into recycled yarn
Optional, medium sized knitting needles or crochet hooks
Optional, yarn, any type, but thicker and chunkier types will work best
About the Artist

Rosina’s work is regularly exhibited across the UK including three shows in 2021: The Absurd, Fubar Collective at the Crypt Gallery and The Playful Turn, Degrees of Freedom at the Espacio Gallery.
