Roller States is a meditation on the inner lives of two London roller skaters — Rue Ann Paisley and Tre Skywalker. Over the course of the film, its two protagonists express in their own words just what it’s like to be your true self on eight wheels; from the thrill of movement to the warmth and inclusiveness of the skating community and the unique states of body and mind encountered by all roller skaters. Film directed by Razvan Pestean.

Shot in black and white, Roller States is both the director’s passion project and a film about two individuals’ source of real passion. If you’ve ever laced up a pair of skates, you won’t want to miss it.
