East Village creates the world’s FIRST Parsnip Spiced Latte!

It’s time to eat, drink and be merry

“The pumpkin spiced latte is soooo last year,” chuckles Get Living’s Brand Communications Manager, Victoria Cook. The Get Living team have joined festive forces with the culinary-brains behind Signorelli, East Village to create the WORLD’S FIRST PARSNIP SPICED LATTE.

It launches tomorrow and there are freebies up for grabs – because we could all do with a sprinkling of (Christmas) cheer and some cosy warmth right now.

Artisan bakery, Signorelli, East Village has re-mastered the often overlooked root vegetable – the parsnip, re-working it into a comforting, Christmassy, hug-in-a-mug. Made with parsnip spice, turmeric, cinnamon, maple syrup and oat milk, this photo-worthy drink looks like it’s been hand-picked straight from a Wes Anderson movie set and it’s sure to warm the cockles (of your heart), fill you with festive cheer and get the Christmas season off with a jolly bang.

And because it is the season of kindness, Signorelli will be giving 25 of these babies away, every Friday (from tomorrow) through to the 18th December to the first 25 customers that ask for it, between the hours of 2-3pm. For everyone else, it’s £3.75, but you can’t put a price on happiness, right?

Even though the café is closed for dining-in right now, you can still order your treats, on site, to takeaway (yippee!)

The master-bakers have also been keeping themselves busy inventing some drool-worthy cake-sensations, too. You’d be a fool to let their brand new Ferrero Rocher layer cake, Eggnog layer cake with whiskey and spiced caramel icing, the Christmas cranberry and coconut vegan loaf and the ultimate Christmas fruit cake pass you by. All of which make for the perfect accompaniment to your new favourite hot drink.

“It might sound a little strange, but the Parsnip Spice Latte is absolutely delicious, and goes well with festive pastries and cakes. The added turmeric gives it a little kick, but the syrup and oat milk carefully balance the flavours for a cosy, wintry treat.” Says Rebecca Rosmini, owner of Signorelli East Village.

Ian Gibbs, Director of Neighbourhoods at Get Living, said: “To provide some cheer through this second national lockdown, we wanted to offer those in East Village something fun and festive as we spend more time in our homes and neighbourhoods.

“The Parsnip Spice Latte may sound silly, but it’s absolutely delicious, and we’ll be offering 100 free drinks over the festive period.”

The Parsnip Spice Latte can be procured or purchased at Signorelli Bakery, 7 Victory Parade, East Village, London E20 from tomorrow: FRIDAY 20 NOVEMBER.

Happy Friday indeed.

See you all in the socially distanced queue.
