Get Living London welcomes Sajid Javid MP

On Wednesday 22 October, Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and MP for Bromsgrove, visited East Village E20 as part of a wider tour of the former Olympic venues.

The tour provided him with a chance to witness the legacy success of theOlympics first hand and to see the effect it has had on Stratford two years after the historic sporting event.

Upon his arrival to the Get Living London management office, Sajid was taken up Celebration Avenue to meet with a local worker from the newly-opened on site Sainsbury’s. The tour group then moved on to Belvedere Garden for the installation of a plaque to commemorate the fact that East Village is the most successful project of its size in terms of health and safety. Following this, the Secretary of State had the chance to speak to a family of Triathlon residents.

The Secretary of State has held a number of roles in the coalition government including PPS to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Economic Secretary to the Treasury and Financial Secretary to the Treasury. We hope he thoroughly enjoyed his visit to East Village and would be delighted to welcome him back in the future.
