To kick off 2016 Get Living London has moved house to Zone 2, but no removals vans or packing of boxes has been required!
This month all of the Stratford stations (Stratford International, Stratford, Stratford High Street) were reclassified to straddle the border of Zones 2 and 3, which just emphasises how close to the centre the area really is.
East Village, already known as the best connected neighbourhood in London, is served by the Jubilee and Central tube lines, DLR, High Speed Rail and National Rail, and allows you to get to Kings Cross St Pancras in just 7 minutes, and the west end in 20.
Transport for London re-zoned Stratford as part of the Mayor’s plans to create a new cultural hub in the Queen Elizabeth Park called “Olympicopolis”.
It means no extra cost for commuters, but the potential for very significant savings.
It follows plans unveiled by TFL to start running a 24 hour tube service at weekends.
