To mark the 10-year anniversary of the 2012 Olympic Games, Get Living, the UK’s leading build-to-rent operator of large scale residential neighbourhoods, has announced the launch of a community fund to support development and wellbeing of people in the E20 neighbourhood.
The Inspiring East Village Community Fund is open to non-profit organisations based in Stratford’s East Village.
Community organisations will be able to apply for financial support from a £20,000 fund.
Grants of up to £3,000 are now available for projects that promote decent work and growth, sustainable cities, arts and creativity, and neighbourhood and inclusivity in the local area.
From 29 July to 16 September, the fund will be open for applications from:
Non-profits will be able to apply for the Inspiring East Village Community Fund on the ActionFunder, a funding platform that connects businesses with local charities.
Ailish Christian West, Executive Director, Portfolio Management, Development & ESG at Get Living, said: “Ten years on from the Olympics and its positive legacy continues. Get Living has been investing in East Village and the wider community for the last decade and we are delighted to launch this fund with Action Funder that supports job creation, wellbeing, sustainability and accessible arts and culture and will genuinely foster positive community connections in our neighbourhood and beyond.”
Get Living was launched in May 2013, shortly after the Games, with a distinct mission to change the way people rent whilst supporting the local communities in which it sits. The Company’s ethos is that creation of social value is symbiotic with economic and environmental value and community creation. It is hoped that by offering well-designed homes in great neighbourhoods, local communities may enjoy social value creation through long-term Get Living support.
Since its inception, Get Living has given more than £500,000 to charitable and community causes across wellbeing, arts and sport. Get Living recently donated to Mind in Lambeth and Southwark, an extension of its existing partnership with Mind in Salford. Other current initiatives include support for local Newham artists through Rosetta Arts, as well as being a founding sponsor of the East Village-based E20 Football Foundation and a long-time supporter of SportsAid, the UK’s leading charity for young athletes.
